Verizon Mobile Device Manager
In 2014, Verizon planned to build a mobile device management platform, an enterprise application for companies to manage mobile devices, networks and applications. It helps companies manage software updates, troubleshoot device errors, implement standardized policies and identify security risks across their fleet of employee issued mobile devices.
The concept, workshop and project bid
The first phase of the project involved building an early stage UX design prototype to convince Verizon to move forward with the rest of the project. I was the lead designer responsible for this first phase and I crafted a few key screens showcasing both the visual design and workflows. Our design team and key leadership members met at Verizon’s HQ in New Jersey to present our bid for the project. The Verizon product team were impressed with the concept work and awarded us with the largest bid ever for our small innovation studio.
The UI Framework
With the depth of information the application would process, a framework was built to define all universal UI interactions. Given the complexity and variety of functionality and data in the application, the UI framework creates a consistent and simplified approach to be applied to all new use cases. We provided templates for building dashboards, modular information cards, color systems for data visualizations and data workflows.
Built with Multiple Devices and Users in Mind
The modular design of Verizon’s Mobile Device Management was done with purposeful intent — to create a natural responsive application to optimize the experience for different screen sizes.
Card Designs
The modular card design were instrumental in giving users a preview of important summary data in different dashboard views.
Smart Slide-Out Navigation
It’s there when you need it and gone when you don’t. The Smart Slide-Out Navigation is truly user-friendly with built-in functionality to hide itself when a user focuses elsewhere,
